5 Questions on Christianity, Life & Books

The Latimer Trust asks Chris Young.

How did you become a Christian?

I had the great privilege of growing up in a Christian home and hearing about Jesus from the start. But it was in my university years that in God’s grace the gospel really ‘clicked’ for me.

Who is or has been an influential person in your Christian pilgrimage?

Many people! It is hard to pinpoint one. From family to friends to those who have pastored me and served with me as colleagues in the gospel. I am very grateful to God for them all.

What piece of advice would you give people going into fulltime ministry work today?

Stick close to Jesus! He is everything.

Which is the best book you have read recently?

I have really enjoyed Robert Latham’s recent book on the Holy Spirit, and on a less academic level, David Gibson’s ‘The Lord of Psalm 23’ is a wonderful, truly pastoral read.

What are you working on at the moment?

A series of sermons in the last part of Acts, following the apostle Paul as he defends both the gospel and his ministry. Encouraging and challenging in equal measure!
